Sugarcoating
I have enough self-esteem to power a small village. There is no need to make things seem better than average or even good when they are not. It makes me think that any reeling after the initial conversation are second thoughts and hindsight. I pride myself in being informed, but mixed signals are unfortunately relative to the person receiving them. The thing is, I can empathize more than can be expected, and this is not the first time I miscalculated the message.
